Mutual Mobile today announced it has been named to Forbes annual list of America’s Most Promising Companies for the second consecutive year. Ranking 42nd overall, Mutual Mobile landed a spot in Forbes’ prestigious “Nifty 50”, a short list of privately held, high-growth companies. In addition, Mutual Mobile Founder and CEO John Arrow was named one of America’s Most Promising CEOs Under 35, an honor given to the young business chiefs running dynamic, high-growth enterprises with bright prospects for the future.

Mutual Mobile was one of only five other Texas-based companies to make the Most Promising list, and the only one from Austin to make the top 50.

“Being named to Forbes’ Most Promising Companies list for the second year in a row is a huge honor that validates our ongoing commitment to product innovation and thought leadership in the mobile industry,” said Arrow. “I’m proud to work with such a talented, dedicated team delivering world-class solutions to customers around the globe.”

With more than 300 employees globally, Mutual Mobile continues to lead the industry in delivering innovative mobile solutions for clients such as Audi, Cisco, Google, Jaguar Land Rover, Philips and Xerox. The company recently announced its fourth consecutive quarter of growth.

“Our experience with Mutual Mobile has been the best we have had working with another software firm,” said Terry McCabe, Chief Technology Officer, Mavenir Systems. “They are more of a partner than a contract development house. You get a group of people who become intimate with your business, who understand what you want to achieve and who strive to deliver the best. They are competent and fast moving, and have a great future ahead of them.”

“We congratulate Mutual Mobile on being named one of Forbes’ Most Promising Companies for the second year in a row. Over the course of our relationship, I’ve seen their team grow into incredible mobile experts,” said Armand Brunelle, Managing Director, Wells Fargo Capital Finance. “From design and engineering to helping clients drive adoption, Mutual Mobile’s expertise serves as an asset to an organization.”

For the Most Promising Companies list, Forbes strove for a holistic gauge of young, privately-held companies, trying to pin down their trajectories by looking at a slew of variables. Over the course of six months Forbes reviewed thousands of applications. Forbes turned to CB Insights, a Manhattan-based data research firm that specializes in assessing private companies, to refine the search. The final assessment is based on growth (both in sales and hiring), quality of management team and investors, margins, market size and key partnerships. After verifying sales numbers, speaking with each company and debating their merits and blemishes, Forbes produces a final ranking.
